now hiring: ProdUCTION Intern
About the Role
Portmanteau Pictures is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Production Intern to work directly on feature film development projects. This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain an understanding of how film projects are developed and financed.
What You’ll Be Doing
Helping out with day-to-day tasks like scheduling, emails, and keeping things on track.
Doing research to support current projects — everything from story ideas to funding opportunities.
Assisting with pitch decks, treatments, and production paperwork.
Getting involved with pre-production and production logistics (call sheets, locations, crew lists).
Pitching in on set or in post-production when needed.
Generally being an extra set of eyes, ears, and hands for the Producer.
What We’re Looking For
Someone organised, reliable, and proactive.
Good communication skills and comfortable working with all kinds of people.
Strong interest in contemporary Australian filmmaking.
Skills across apps (Word, Google Docs, Calendars, etc.), Social media and editing and production software.
A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
